इनसे हर साँस में तहरीक-ए-बग़ावत है मुझे।

इसकी यलग़ार मेरी ज़ात पे मौक़ूफ़ नहीं
इसकी गर्दिश मेरे दिन-रात पे मौक़ूफ़ नहीं।

झनझनाया हुआ, थर्राया हुआ साज़ है क्या!

हँस तो सकते हो, गिरफ़्तार तो कर सकते हो
ख़्वार-ओ-रुस्वा सर-ए-बाज़ार तो कर सकते हो।
अपनी क़ह्हार ख़ुदाई की नुमाइश के लिए
मुझको नज़्र-ए-रसन-ओ-दार तो कर सकते हो।

तुम ही तुम क़ादिर-ए-मुतलक़ हो, ख़ुदा कुछ भी नहीं?
जिस्म-ए-इंसां में दिमाग़ों के सिवा कुछ भी नहीं।
हँस तो सकते हो, गिरफ़्तार तो कर सकते हो
ख़्वार-ओ-रुस्वा सर-ए-बाज़ार तो कर सकते हो।

आह! ये सच है कि हथियार के बल-बूते पर
आदमी नादिर-ओ-चंगेज़ तो बन सकता है।
ज़ाहिरी क़ुव्वत-ओ-सितवत की फ़रावानी से
