Höhen, Tiefen, Auf und Ab
Das Drehbuch, das hat er geschrieben
Die leeren Seiten werden knapp
Völlig still ist es geworden

Stille, die sein Atem trägt
Niemand stört sich an der Träne
Die lautlos auf den Boden schlägt
Zaghaft nur, als wollt‘ man stör’n

Zwei Hände geben das Signal
Beifall wurde laut und lauter
Plötzlich tobt der ganze Saal
Da steht er in im grellen Schein

Ein alter Mann mit grauem Haar
Dem tosender Applaus gehört
Ich fühl‘ mich ihm so menschlich nah
Da steht er mit gebeugten Schultern

Auch Erfolg wiegt manchmal schwer
Den Star, den hat man längst vergessen
Und langsam wird der Saal jetzt leer
Aus dem Glas der heißen Lampen

Stirbt der letzte Lichterschein
Ein alter Mann allein im Dunkeln
Im Gedanken ganz allein
Richtung Ausgang wollt‘ ich gehen
