А Веснопляс в это время сидит в застенках… Он свободен. Веснопляс не боится стен! Для него не бывает стен, он просто слеп отсутствием тропы. И огромная его сила бесполезна и бессмысленна. Он мог бы разметать в щебень все вокруг, но ведь пришел сюда совсем с другой целью. И теперь, не понимая происходящего вокруг, дракон, как дитя беспомощный, просто не знал, что ему предпринять. Поэтому тянул время, беспредельно скучно и просто выигрывал у сокамерников в карты. А иногда рассказывал им небылицы и показывал чудные видения во сне

Чай должен был сотворить в городе какое-нибудь бедствие, и при этом какой-нибудь отдельно взятый черносвист должен был броситься спасать, естественно, самое дорогое – Тае. А Чай, в суматохе, должен был вырвать Тае из рук и… Ну, что будет дальше, никто предсказать не мог…
Все почти так и вышло. Силой, данной Чаю Миром, он поднял страшный ветер, и разорвал над городом смог. Марта, увидев чистое небо, вдруг вспомнила смысл себя и вспыхнула яркой звездочкой. Веснопляс увидел ее свет. Разбитая мозаика видений сложилась в ясную цель. “Тае!” Дракон прошел сквозь стены
Да только вот в суматохе и в панике мальчик Чай был ранен. Из последних сил он бежал всю ночь, прижимая к груди добытое Тае в виде… туго набитого кошелька
Веснопляс и Марта нашли его на рассвете по едва различимой только для них тропе. Марта приняла из ослабевших рук кошелек и закопала его, строго соблюдая положенный при этом ритуал
